We can import the top-level .iam assembly file, or better yet, import from a DWF-3D file.
We can import the top-level .asm assembly file or a STEP AP214 file. If using STEP, the “AP214” option must be chosen on the Solid Edge STEP exporter options panel.
We can import the top-level .asm assembly file. Alternatively we can import from a top-level Neutral .neu.asm assembly file, or a STEP AP214 file.
We can import the native Solidworks top-level .sldasm file or a “BREP Manifold Solids IGES” file which has been exported from SolidWorks.
AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
For AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks, we import from a DWF-3D file. DWF-3D is one of the very best file formats for data translation.
We import from a native .3dm file.
UG NX conversions are always best done with a STEP AP214 file or alternatively a JT file.
We can import a BREP Solids IGES file.
Substantial engineering expertise
Our founder, Simon Jennings, offers a unique blend of engineering, digital design and marketing experience.
An engineering background derived from a degree in aeronautical engineering at Imperial College and over 11 years of motorsport experience at the highest level, perfectly positioned to provide support to clients in the 3D technical and engineering animation arena.
From importing real world geo data to advanced fluid simulations to user interactivity – we thrive on new technical challenges.
As this was our first venture into 3D animation videos on behalf of a client, we welcomed the professional guidance and support that Simon provided throughout the project. As a result both ourselves and our client were delighted with the finished product which was completed on the date promised even although we asked for a few changes along the way. We will have no hesitation in working with Kinesomania on any future projects.
Simple online approval
We’ll provide a simple online platform for you to review and comment on progress at every stage. We’ll revise at each step in line with your recommendations and send back for final approval. We provide unlimited revisions at every stage.
We follow a tried and tested production schedule only moving on to the next step when you’re 100% satisfied with progress.

The video looks absolutely brilliant. Thank you. And the service and dedication to getting this done on a tight deadline has been impeccable. I will be recommending you!!!!.
An insight into everyday tasks at Kinesomania
Every animation project poses it’s own unique set of challenges. We’re on top of every part of the production pipeline.
CAD import and model refinement
We can import product assemblies and parts from all major 3D CAD programs with no tweaking or data fix-up required. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, ProE/Creo, Solid Edge, UG NX, Catia, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Rhino.
We use 2D CAD data to check primary dimensions and 3D viewers to provide quick reference exploded views and section cuts.
Many machines such as the boom, stick and bucket on an excavator require rigging. We often set up a layer hierarchy with a set of constraints and controllers so that we can animate the machine quickly during the production process.
Character modelling, rigging and texturing
We create characters, their props and clothing, positioned in a T-pose ready for rigging and animating. We apply bones and muscle weighting during the rigging phase to create a natural motion and then create and apply textures.
Motion capture (Mocap)
We import motion capture data (Mocap) from our extensive library and blend the individual actions together to create a single fluid motion for a character. We manually keyframe any bespoke motions.
Fluids and particles
We’ll set up any particle, fluid or gas simulations. Ideal for water, oil, dust and contaminant flows.
We looked at a number of different animation companies to help us with a product video, and settled on Kinesomania because of their quick, professional attitude to our project. They understood our concerns over time-lines and budget, and made sure to steer us and the work to meet these requirements. We had no experience of this sort of work, and relied on the Kinesomania team to help us through it and keep the show on track. I guess it says something that we immediately re-booked them for a second project, and we were glad to find that their performance stayed high for this one too. Can’t recommend them enough, and if anybody wants to confirm this with me, I’m happy to take calls or emails.
